David, Ashlee and Me

Thursday, March 27, 2008

Every night, when David tucks himself into bed, Ashlee would jump on top of him and start kissing him goodnight. And when David wakes and sits up in bed in the morning, Ashlee would jump onto his lap and rub or clean her face with her paws. It is a heart-warming sight, and I can tell David definitely enjoys the attention...

I can't recall the last time Ashlee greeted me like that in the morning. She used to do that when it was just me and her, but now she obviously prefers to do it to David. As David always says, "She treats me like a friend, but you as her owner." Maybe that's why she is sort of taking me for granted.

But I know I am still her favourite person. :O)

Ok, by now most of you, my friends, would have found out about my pregnancy. We are starting to get excited about it now. Have to admit that we were (and still are) a little nervous about the well-being of the baby, being first-timers. The healthcare service here doesn't help, we couldn't even seek any assurance from the dr - she wouldn't see me till I was eight weeks pregnant; and the first scan was only done in the 13th week, and the only other scan will be in the 20th week. In any case, I was WAY too sick to "enjoy" the experience.

I am feeling slightly better now, though I still have quite a few bad days in a week. My mum, sis and Gee have been reasurring me that the sickness will pass soon, and that I will feel much better. I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, hopefully the other pregnancy niggles won't catch up with me so soon.

David just got his new car last week... quite a big car, but before you get excited, it is just a Ford Mondeo - and we got it at a mega discount.

I guess a new toy like that just brings out the kid in men, he was really happy with it... till he sort of crashed it yesterday. He reversed into a post and the bumper on the right side was damaged. I could feel his pain... I remember myself (when I just got my driving licence) clipping the kerb on a roundabout and denting the wheel of our battered ole Polo and even that hurt.

He said he is going to replace the bumper and hopefully the dented metal can be knocked out. I hope it will work.
