People find it rather baffling when I start worrying about the possibility of having an active baby. All parents want their children to be healthy, and activeness is probably a very good indication of health isn't it?
Actually, I do want a responsive and interactive baby, and I always find energetic babies or toddlers more appealing than quiet ones. What I am really concerned with is my lack of (confidence in my) parenting skills. I am not sure if I can ever be a good enough mother. Lack of discipline, structure and great ambitions – non-qualities I possess that are probably not the most conducive for effective parenting. But I can't help but wonder sometimes, is a placid baby necessarily easier to manage and groom than a boisterous one? Maybe I should worry less...
