Ashlee and her Magnum Ice Cream

Was enjoying my ice cream and as usual, Ashlee had her face 2 centimetres from mine just in case I didn't realise that she really wanted my ice cream.

As chocolate is potentially toxic to dogs, I kindly finished the chocolate coating on the ice cream and a good portion of the vanilla ice cream inside before I shared it with my monster munching machine.

(You probably can hear the tv in the background, and see my foot at the corner of the video, but the star of the video is the one lapping up the ice cream!)

Flowers...

This might make me sound a bit pathetic... David finally bought me flowers without me having to nag him for it!!!

I never was a major fan of flowers. I mean, I appreciate them, but I never craved for it... until I started going out with David. He did have flowers delivered to me when he was in Oz and me in Singapore. But since we moved in together, and subsequently got married, there hadn't been any sightings of flowers within a mile. That is including the time he proposed to me, mind you!

Prior to our one year wedding anniversary, I kept hinting that flowers would be nice. But I didn't get any on the actual day. Though he did present a nice dinner invitation to the swish OXO restaurant by The Thames. And guess what, no, he didn't turn up with flowers on that day. He actually didn't pass by any florist from his office to the OXO Tower, so he didn't. Oh, he did ask me to wait outside when we found a florist at OXO Tower. But they decided not to sell him any as they are closed.

So anniversary dinner was a little tainted. (Food was gorgeous though!)

On our way home, at Liverpool Street tube station, David thought he might redeem himself by getting me some flowers from the street vendor whilst I stood there waiting for him to get the best bunch out of the withering selection. Nice...

This Thursday marked the day we met five years ago. Decided to cook him a real nice dinner, went Waitrose with him to shop for fillet steak and dessert. Came home and voila! Flowers!!!! Hehe, soooo chuffed! Who cares that it was from Waitrose and not some snotty florist?! I didn't even have to drop hints! I had been wishing for it all week though. Maybe he was feeling bad that he was going to spend the whole weekend away in Spain for a stag-do...

Yes, they are giant chrysanthemums. But being a man, he couldn't tell what they are and anyway, being ang moh, he didn't know chrysanthemums are not the most auspicious flowers for Chinese. And no, my arrangement did not do the flowers justice, I swear they looked very presentable before I took them out of the wrapping.

I am a very happy girl.
